Final Video Project

Christmas is coming, but still many people feel they are lonely. So, our team is trying to encourage people to fall in love in this season. We have conducted a survey from hundred and one students in Hanyang University. Some people have their sweetheart, others are not. We have searched where they met at first, how long the have their relationship, what factor is important when they look at opposite gender and so on. 

Not only statistical analysis, but also we have some interview from students. Through this,  we want to give some advice to lonely people in our school. 

Everyone distributed survey form to students and will be working on statistical analysis.

Life is a Play on the Stage

 About a year has passed since I bought my iPhone. I have taken many pictures with this phone. To make this video, I looked at all the pictures I take through the year and find 5 images what I think about in my daily life

Traveling with low cost carrier(LCC)

With the increase of the travel demand, more and more people are travel with LCC, and LCC companies are growing faster. In USA, Southwest Airlines connects almost 100 cities in the country with more than 600 aircrafts and in Europe, almost half of the flight is operated by LCC carriers. And also, many Korean and foreign LCC carriers connect many places like as far as Guam or Bangkok, and as close as Japan and China. But, since everything has light and shadow, LCC travel also have some benefits and disadvantages.

The most biggest benefit from LCC is the cost for the flight. The price of the flight ticket sometimes go down below the half price compared with major airlines (which is called Full Service Carrier, FSC) like Korean Air or Delta. And many invisible benefits made from competition with companies can make your journey even better.

But, there are some inconvenience travelers should consider about. First, LCC carriers have higher seat density in the aircraft to take more passengers in the flight. This means each traveler have smaller space for their own. It might doesn’t matter for the short haul flight like Seoul to Tokyo, since it takes just two hours or less. But if flight goes further like Seoul to Bangkok, which takes five hours and half, sitting in narrow seat make traveler even more tired. And even more, in this flight no airline meal or sometimes even drink is not served but it is sold by the crew.

And it is difficult to change or cancel the ticket and it takes some charge or fee. And even some airline company doesn’t allow to cancel and refund ticket. Because of this, travelers should decide carefully when make their booking. And when the flight canceled or delayed, travelers can’t get extra services like accommodation, but only can get on next flight or refund of the ticket. So, if traveler has tight or important time schedule, there is a risk to fly with LCC carriers.

Nowadays many LCC carriers attracts travelers with their low costs, but in the market economy, we can get what we have for. So, I’d recommend to fly with major FSC airlines rather than endure many inconvenience to save just little money. Since lower cost means that we should endure our inconvenience compared with FSC flight, traveling with LCC for long haul flight, further than Japan or China, can make your journey hard one.

And sometimes LCC flight is not actually cheap. When I was planning my travel to Europe last year, I have to decide which airline to fly with from London to Munich. Lufthansa flight was more expensive than easy jet(LCC carrier) flight. But Lufthansa departs at Heathrow airport, easy jet departs at Gatwick airport, where is even far from London than Heathrow. So it takes more time and money to go to Gatwick compared with Heathrow. So, it seems easy jet flight is cheaper, but when I consider many other things like cost for moving to airport, flight departure time (usually cheap LCC flight departs at early morning or late evening.), and airline meals served by Lufthansa, I found easy jet flight has many hidden cost. So I take Lufthansa flight for my trip and got a good travel experience.

Cheeper ticket or better service, choice is up to you. But just paying litter more can make journey even more comfortable. Your travel is should be pleasant, not hard and uncomfortable.

How Apple Changed our world - Timeline of Apple Inc.

Background color is silver which is similar with the color of the Macbook Air. And Main line gradation color is from the colorful apple logo used before 2007. And font is also from apple software, Apple Gothic. All elements used in this graphic is from Apple's identity to remember Steve Jobs's creative idea.  Although 3 years passed since Steve Jobs had died, many apple product which gave us inspiration will last for long time. There is a saying that three apples changed the world, Adam's apple, Issac Newton's apple, and Jobs's apple. In my view, he is some kind of Muse who give creative inspiration.

Informing text - Strasbourg, the most European city.

 Millions of people visit Paris every year. They visit many places in and near Paris, like Eiffel Tower, Chateau de Versailles (Palace of Versailles), Mont Saint Michel and so on. But most of  people who visit Paris, rarely visit other cities of France. But there are many fascinating cities in France and Strasbourg is one of them. I visited Strasbourg last year, so I want to show you how beautiful and attractive this city is.

 Strasbourg is two hours from Paris and Frankfurt by train. And it is capital city of Alsace region in eastern France and very close to the border with Germany. It takes 10 minutes to cross the border with Germany by car. Because of its location, the ruler of this region changed many times in history. So, this area has blended culture between French culture and German culture.

 You can find many attractive places in Strasbourg which you can’t see in Paris. Strasbourg is well known for Strasbourg Notre-dame Cathedral and Petit France district. Strasbourg Notre-dame Cathedral is Gothic Architecture built in Middle Ages and it had taken more than 600 years to build. Until now, it is the highest still-standing structure built entirely in the Middle Ages. When you stand in front of this building, you will be overwhelmed by its height and solemn atmosphere.

 Petit France is another places attracts many people to visit Strasbourg. Petit France is canal area which flows across the city. You can see many places of the city by taking small cruise ship.

 Many building and houses were built in wood and it has been preserved until now. So you can feel the most European atmosphere in this city.

 Strasbourg was not well known place in Korea, so few people have visited there. But this city was introduced by Korean TV Program ‘꽃보다 할배’ (English name: Grandpas over flowers) last year(2013). This program showed beautiful scenery of this city. I planned to visit this city when I was planning my trip to Europe. And when I watched this program I can’t help going to Strasbourg. I hope people who travel France to visit Strasbourg as well as Paris.

Memory of our childhood - Animation of Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki Hayao

 Last year, Miyazaki Hayao announced his retirement from animation directing and in this year, Studio Ghibli also announced that they will not produce new animation. This means the end of an era in the history of animation. With out a doubt, Miyazaki Hayao and his animation is the symbol of Japanese animation.

 His animation have shown beautiful dreams to children, and made adults to recover their innocence which they had in their minds when they are young. Most of you reading this article may watched one of the movies made by Studio Ghibli like <My Neighbor Totoro>, <Spirited Away> and so on. I watched his animation first when I was middle school student. My Korean teacher introduce the animation of Ghibli in the class and showed some of its work. At that time I just thought the film is quite interesting. But when I get older and watched film again, I could find meaning of the film and what does director wanted to say through his work. 

 Miyazaki said that the reason for making animation is to know and seek for the secret of the world. As he says, his animation made people who watch film think about nature and human being. Although he retired and we can not look forward to his new film, but his artworks will remain in our mind forever.

Hello, everybody!!!

Hello everybody, I'm Jung Jinhoon from Seoul, Korea.

I'm majoring economics and finance in Hanyang university. I love my major but I'm trying to do many activities and experiences which is not related with my major. I believe, many experiences what I have got make be better than before.

I like moving around many places, so I’m also interested in traveling around. I have visited Europe in last fall, but since I have limited time and budget, there are many places where I cannot visit. I like to visit many other countries but if I can, I like to go Europe again.

And also, I like writing many things and I think I’m good at it. Until now I did not make records of my living and interests, but from now on I’ll try to write what I have see and what I have done. Through this, I want to give inspiration to everybody in there world. This is why name of this blog is “Oh My Muse”.
